Let me start by saying this: I’m not by any means a fitness guru. In fact, I’ve never been one to enjoy hitting the gym or sweating it out in intense workouts. But, like many of us, I’ve always known the importance of staying active for both my physical and mental health.

So, when a next-door neighbour challenged me to walk 15,000 steps every day for a month, I figured, why not give it a shot? Little did I know, it would turn into one of the most transformative experiences of my life.

Now, before I dive into the nitty-gritty of what happened over that month, let me introduce myself. I’m a single mother, 40, who’s been carrying around some extra weight for a while now. I’ve tried different diets (mostly keto) and sporadic exercise routines, and it worked sometimes, but nothing ever really stuck.

So, when my friend Jessie proposed the walking challenge, I was intrigued but also a tad skeptical. Could simply walking really make a difference? Well, here’s what went down.
